It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Stort Group’s Founding Director, Kendrick Gilkes.

Kendrick started the business in 1981 alongside his wife, Marguerite, laying the foundations for what would become the Stort Group we know today.

Today, two generations of his family continue to work within the business, a reflection of the close-knit, family nature that has always been at the heart of Stort Group.

His funeral will be held on 13th March, in Oxfordshire where he was born. The office will closed on this day as a sign of respect. If you would like to attend, please reach out to a member of the family.

We waved off Tom, our placement student last week as he heads back to Loughborough for his final year 🎓 It’s been brilliant having him on the team and we will sure miss his can do attitude. Of course, we couldn’t let him go without a few cocktails in Stort colours and a team dinner to celebrate🍹 Thanks for all the hard work you’ve put in and good luck smashing your final year 🙌✨

Last Sunday, Rebecca Sanderson, third generation family member and valued member of the Stort Group team, completed the London Marathon in a time of 5 hours and 30 minutes! 💙

Whilst managing to raise a whopping £5,555 for Alzheimer’s Society, it is safe to say we are all extremely proud of Becky!

With just 8 weeks to go until the London Marathon on April 27th, Rebecca Sanderson, third-generation family member and valued member of the Stort Group team, continues her incredible journey in support of Alzheimer’s Society.

Rebecca has been training hard in preparation for the 26.2 miles of London, showing incredible dedication and determination along the way.

Alzheimer’s Society is working towards a future where dementia no longer devastates lives, providing support today and hope for tomorrow. This cause is very close to Stort’s heart, as our founding Director Kendrick Gilkes, Rebecca’s Grandfather, was diagnosed with mixed dementia in 2022.

With race day fast approaching, any support would mean the world. If you can, please donate - every contribution, big or small, makes a difference! 💙
