Weir Street Light Engineering are looking for a manual machinist and fitter to add to their ever expanding team in Blackburn.

Experience preferred but not essential, and would be willing to take on an apprentice or graduate. All training will be provided, but candidate must be comfortable with lifting heavy loads due to the nature of the work.

Ford Ranger 2.2…..this is why we always recommend a reface/skim. This is a perfect example showing how a cylinder head warps due to the head gasket blowing.

This head was pressure tested to ensure integrity of the water jacket.

The cylinder head was resurfaced, valves and seats re-machined and vacuum tested.

Rebuilt with new stem seals.

Vauxhall Astra J VXR engine machined and ready for fully forge build.

Cylinder has had a full overhaul:
• Cylinder head resurfaced
• Valves and seats re-machined and vacuum tested
• Full set of valve guides fitted
• New stem seals fitted
• Piper performance valve springs fitted

• Block has been rebored to +0.50mm and two stage honed to correct clearance specification.

• Crankshaft inspected and polished

• Water jacket pressure tested.
• Cylinder head resurfaced.
• Re-machine valves and valve seats, vacuum tested.
• Strip down, inspected, cleaned and de-coked.
