Today is Armed Forces Day 🇬🇧
Today, on Armed Forces Day, I take a moment to reflect on what it means to have worn the beret and wings of a UK paratrooper. Serving in the British Army wasn’t just a job; it was a way of life built on loyalty, integrity, and an unrelenting drive to be the best version of myself.
I had the honour of serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, experiences that shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. Being a decorated soldier isn’t about medals or accolades, it’s about the moments of courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable brotherhood forged in some of the world’s toughest environments.
I was privileged to serve alongside some of the finest operators I’ve ever known. Men who inspired me every day with their professionalism and unwavering commitment. After leaving the military, I continued that journey working as a hostile environments close protection officer, where the same values of discipline, teamwork, and moral courage were as vital as ever.
Loyalty and integrity aren’t just words to me, they’re the foundations of everything I stand for. The relentless drive to push harder, train smarter, and lead from the front has been ingrained in me since day one in the Paras, and it continues to guide me today.
To those I served with, and to every man and woman still serving: thank you for your dedication. And to everyone marking Armed Forces Day so let’s remember the sacrifices made and the extraordinary people who choose to stand on the line for our freedoms.
Airborne. Always.
