Great insights at the FMB North West Joint Meeting today at the historic Samlesbury Hall!

We had the opportunity to see a fantastic talk and demonstration on Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) walls, led by Steve Burgess from ICF Supplies Ltd. ICF is a game-changer in modern construction, offering superior strength, energy efficiency, and rapid installation—making it a top choice for high-performance builds.

Big thanks to Steve for sharing his expertise and to the Federation of Master Builders for organizing another great session, bringing together industry professionals to learn and innovate.

📢 Campaigning for Change at Parliament: Tackling the Housing Crisis Together 🏠

This week, we joined fellow SME builders and members of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) at Parliament to push for real solutions to the UK’s housing crisis. The visit focused on how small and medium-sized building companies can help plug the gap in demand and meet the ambitious government target of 1.5 million new homes.

We had the opportunity to hear from the Housing Minister, who shared the government’s vision for increasing the country’s housing stock. While the plans are bold, it’s clear more needs to be done to empower SME builders like us to deliver high-quality homes.

Our message is simple: SME builders are ready and willing to step up, but we need better access to land, streamlined planning processes, and support to overcome the challenges we face every day. With the right backing, we can provide bespoke, localized solutions that larger firms often can’t.

Special thanks to the FMB members and board members who attended and showed their unwavering support. Together, we’re driving the message forward: more must be done to meet housing targets.
