As the old saying goes, there's no rest for garden railway kit producers, or something like that at least!

As the Packing Pixie is busy re-stocking our kits, I've been in the workshop re-stocking our steel wheels. We had a fair few people come over to us from the Peterbinnie.com stand to get some of our 16mm diameter, 50mm axle wheels for their Binnie tipper wagons!

There's also a load of GDS Ngg11 wheels being finished off, custom wheels being turned and some laser cut blanks are waiting their turn in the CNC lathe.

Something we've been meaning to do for a long time!

Since all of the display models were safely packed in a box, after the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival, we decided to upgrade the shelving.

Where we used to store leftover trunking and conduit from doing the workshop is now the new store for the models. Some Cliff Barker track and some 8" planks mean they can also be stored two deep.

I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out! Just need another buffer stop now!

Between today and Monday 8th of June 2026, if you use the discount code fr10, you will also receive 10% off all Ffestiniog Railway kits in both 16mm and 7/8" scale!
We are pleased to announce that we are adding a further two kits to the H Jones Engineering range of Ffestiniog Railway wagons.

Firstly, we have the Ffestiniog Railway Oyster wagon. These small, 1 ton capacity, drop-sided wagons were primarily used to transport Oysters from the harbour in Porthmadog up the Vale of Ffestiniog. Oysters were a, high-protein meal that was affordable for the quarry workers. This wagon is based on wagon Number 27.

Secondly, we have the Ffestiniog Railway 2 Ton Open Wagon. There seemed to be a few different varieties of these wagons, this one is based on wagon Number 3.

Both these kits come with a 3D Printed base, laser cut plywood body, with etched details both on the interior and exterior of the wagon and 3D Printed detailing parts including interior detailing on the coal wagon and brake band detailing on both wagons.

Both of these kits are available on the website and orders will be dispatched early next week. The kits will be available at the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival tomorrow!

The Bambu is busy Bambuing and I have some destructions to write 😭

It can only mean one thing... one or maybe two kits are almost ready for releasing at the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival!

One of the kits is dainty, but will be quite the treat for you to build!

Our Maenofferen Slab Wagons are still on special offer on the website. Only £5.00 each! I'm sure they must be one of, if not the cheapest 16mm scale wagon kit available!

Here's an old photo from the blacksmiths at Maenofferen, where the wagons were repaired. The carpenter's shop was the other side of the wall to the tee slot table, where the woodwork would have been repaired and replaced.

We were busy doing the final touches to the kits we will be releasing at Llangollen Garden Railway Festival and realised I was missing a few key dimensions. A quick text and we were on our way down to Minffordd to get some dimensions and photographs that we needed.

And as a bonus, a quick stop in Allports Fish & Chips in Porthmadog for dinner!
