Case Study: Large Concrete Yard Installation – 3,000m² Project

Our team was tasked with preparing and laying more than 3,000 square metres of concrete for a client’s yard. The project came with a tight deadline and the added challenge of unpredictable weather conditions. Careful planning and coordination were essential to ensure the concrete was poured and finished to the highest standard.

An initial site walkover and topographic survey was undertaken using high precision GNSS equipment, this provided accurate levels across the site from which finished levels could be decided. This information was then uploaded into our excavator’s GPS system, allowing us to create the necessary falls, to a high level of precision, and prepare the ground for concrete pouring. With both time constraints and weather in mind, we strategically scheduled each stage, from groundwork to finishing, to ensure the project ran smoothly and efficiently.

A key part of the project’s success was the use of our new ScreedSaver machine, which enabled us to achieve a perfectly smooth surface while increasing efficiency and reducing manual labour. This advanced technology allowed us to deliver an exceptional finish.

The transformation was impressive. The new concrete surface provided a clean, durable and professional finish, within the agreed timescale, meeting all of the client’s requirements.

Bryan Contractors recently had the privilege of upgrading the Bruar Falls footpaths on Atholl Estates, part of the Cairngorms National Park. Located in the heart of Scotland, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. However, the footpaths were in need of repair. Atholl Estates wanted to upgrade these paths to enhance the experience for visitors and ensure the safety of all users. Our team was tasked with improving the accessibility and aesthetics of the paths to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Before our work began, we carefully assessed the needs of the site, taking in to consideration the gradients of path and created a plan to implement a more durable and visually appealing path system.

Using our expertise in construction and reinstatement, we worked diligently to renovate the paths, using sustainable materials and environmentally friendly construction techniques to repair the existing footpath and installed a new section that was both functional and beautiful, leaving minimal impact on the landscape around the paths. Our team utilised high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship to ensure the paths would withstand heavy foot traffic and varying weather conditions.

After completing the project, the newly upgraded walking paths now provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors of all abilities. The improved paths have increased accessibility, allowing more people to explore and appreciate the natural stunning scenery of Bruar Falls while walking on smooth, well-maintained paths.
