We often use partial trees with the root plates still attached to add eco system diversity to river systems, as well as encourage flow diversion and scouring to form pools, the root plates are great for erosion protection when incorporated into river banks where additionally they offer habitat to invertebrates and fish, provide shade and cooler water ideal for species such as Atlantic salmon.
This project was in North West Sutherland.
Tree length approx 7.5m require careful extraction, handling and placement.
