❓ The shaft in a motor is a cylindrical component that extrudes out from the motor and its housing. The purpose of the shaft is to convert energy from the motor into the end use application. Precision pins and shafts operate as a function of speed vs torque. The runout of a ring and the coaxiality of a pin in a shaft are critical dimensions for certain components.
To perform checks on the runout of a ring and the coaxiality of a shaft, a Solartron WiGauge™ Wireless Multichannel Hand Tool can be used. Measurement sensors are mounted on a multichannel using custom tooling and then output via Class I Bluetooth to a local computer.
