Disco in for a couple rear wheel bearings, noise off them was horrendous!
Upon dismantling it was obvious someone who shouldn’t have tools was at this before. Wheel bearing on one side wasn’t seated all the way in the hub, retaining circlip wasn’t in the groove and had broken and the drive fl**ge has seen some damage.. 🤦‍♂️ unbelievable mess of a machined surface. This was well out of spec and the bearing was loose on it. Then on the other side the 25 ton press would not budge the bearing from hub. Had to break out the welder for the old school techniques…

Two oem quality FAG bearings installed and new drive fl**ges! Everything torqued to spec and perfect again. 👌

Transit 2.2 in for dpf issues.
Found glow plugs faults stopping regen and causing the dpf to block up.

Wiring tested end to end. Glow plugs tested as faulty so full inlet out to change them. One stuck but worked that out without breaking it.
4 new glow plugs and some new inlet gaskets etc as needed. DPF removed and sent for a full clean then refitted and vehicle is back to working after clearing faults.

VW UP!

Wee up needing some light reconditioning after being off the road for a while.

Both front springs broken, front brakes were past being worn, rear wheel cylinders both seized and rear shoes close to wear limit. One drum corroded braking surface. Rear brake lines rotting also.

Vehicle got full new set of discs and pads, calipers cleaned and greased, rear shoes replaced new, new fitting kit, wheel cylinders and rear hard brake lines custom made. New axle flexi lines, new drums and a pair of front springs.
Also done a full filter service inc spark plugs with 70+ point safety and maintenance routine and an MOT.
Found a torn pair of coils shorting to the head so they were also replaced.

Vehicle passed its MOT perfectly.
Very happy customer again 👌

Range Rover for welding

After a mot fail on corrosion there was some more hiding under the sideskirt plastics.
Custom panel made, rear cleaned, internals painted and panel welded. Rear wheel well repaired and full sill and wheel well painted in epoxy underseal. Internals hot wax coated and plastics refitted.

Couple small patches required repair on this classic. Cut back to clean metal, internals painted, panels painted inside before welding, area seam sealed and covered with bitumen paint to match the rest.

Nice clean car now with these repairs complete.

Audi a4 needing some work.

In for a full service, an MOT and presenting with a wobble under breaking.

Found a lower arm to have excessive play and all top arm bushes splitting and soft. Rear discs were well past it and front discs were wearing low.
Owner opted for a full set of top arms, a lower arm and a full set of brakes too.

So 4 brakes all cleaned, greased and rebuilt fresh 4 new upper arms and a lower all fitted.
Top arm on these cars can be a challenge with the notorious stuck pinch bolt but patience and a good penetrating fluid goes a long way! No snapped bolts or replacement hub carriers needed!
Full filter service with a 70+ point safety and maintenance routine done and Car passed its MOT and returned to customer.

Another one done and happy customer again. 👌

BMW X1 in for front brakes and a brake fluid service.

New Front Discs and Pads, carriers cleaned and greased. All 4 calipers bled with a full 1L flush of new fluid.

Service schedule updated and service light reset.

Mondeo in for some work

Full filter service. Includes a full 70+ point safety inspection and maintenance programme with fluid top-ups.
Found inner shaft bearing noisy and outer joint little worn. Customer opted for full new shaft.

A5 in for some issues.

Car was in limp mode due to some faults and a mystery coolant leak.
Investigation revealed a faulty exhaust temperature sensor and glow plugs which stopped the vehicle doing a DPF regen so that became blocked up past the normal regen limits.
So 6 new glow plugs and new egt sensor fitted.
DPF cleaner ran through the DPF then regeneration preformed using factory software.
Vehicle also got a full filter service including a full 70+ point safety inspection and maintenance programme with fluid top-ups.
Uv coolant dye was added to the system to reveal any tiny leaks that may be evaporated before being seen.
Coolant leak sourced to the internals of the EGR cooler.
Cars booked in for that to be sorted in the future.

In the meantime it’s got a fresh MOT and wash and returned to the customer.
