THERMOSTATIC RADIATOR VALVES, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THEM..?

A thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) is that little thing with numbers on attached to the side of your radiator, and if you’ve ever wondered what a TRV is and how it works, then don’t worry it’s pretty simple.
By fitting TRVs to your radiators, you can control the temperature in each room individually. Thermostatic radiator valves actually sense the temperature of the room, then adjust the heat flow to the radiator to match the number setting of the TRV.
TRVs have a numbered dial, usually from 0 to 5, with each number corresponding to a room temperature range, typically:
1 = 10°C
2 = 15°C
3 = 20°C
4 = 25°C
5 = 30°C
So you can actually have a toasty lounge set to 3 or 4, with the empty spare room set to 1 or an already oven-warmed kitchen set to 2, for example. All you need to do is turn the dial on the TRV in each room so it is only as warm as you want it. This greater control over your heating can help reduce the amount of energy you use, which can in turn save money!
