Blade Access recently completed a high level survey of a school clock tower in Hull using one of our Palfinger P750 truck mounted platforms.

With the height and access requirements involved, the Palfinger P750 provided a safe and efficient solution for reaching the clock tower and surrounding roof areas. Its impressive working height and outreach allowed the survey team to carry out detailed inspections while minimising disruptions on site.

High level cleaning on critical infrastructure takes more than just height. It needs the right equipment, diligent planning and a strong focus on safety. Blade Access recently supported a pressure washing and cladding clean at Daedalus Converter Station IFA2, working alongside National Grid.

With the scale of the structure and the access required, two of our Palfinger P480 48m truck mounted platforms were sent to site. Both machines were fully earthed to meet site requirements, giving the team safe and reliable access across the building. The reach and positioning of the platforms meant large areas of cladding could be cleaned efficiently without compromising safety.

Before arriving on site, our team carried out detailed planning to make sure everything ran smoothly. This included safe setup, clear working zones and close coordination with other contractors. Specialist exterior cleaning often requires safe and reliable access to difficult-to-reach areas. Blade Access recently supported a steam and pressure washing project at a facility management site in Manchester using one of our Teupen Leo 36T spider lifts.

Effective bird control at height requires safe access, careful planning, and the right equipment to get teams exactly where they need to be. Blade Access recently supported a specialist pest control team with the installation of Bird Free Gel Pots to deter pigeons from roosting on a high-level structure, using one of our GSR 220TJ Truck Mounted Platforms at King's Cross Station, London.

The nature of the works required precise positioning and safe access to awkward, elevated areas where pigeons had been roosting. Our 22m GSR platform provided the ideal solution, offering excellent outreach and manoeuvrability while maintaining stability throughout the operation. This enabled the pest control team to carry out the installation efficiently and safely, reducing the risk of disturbance to the surrounding area.
