Photographs from 2 chimney stack rebuilds and relinings, which entailed heightening both chimney stacks to adhere to modern building regulations for thatched roofs.

Recent installation which involved a chimney stack in such poor condition it needed totally demolishing. The flue was then unblocked from the horrible residue which had built up over years (in part causing the severe stack deterioration) - the stack was then rebuilt, rendered, and the flue lined with a new Thermocrete lining!

Back-breaking work to finally reveal the original period Inglenook!

Large project this week on a listed building to open up the fire opening to the original inglenook size, before making good and installing a new stove. Outside we lowered the stack and installed a new B2c flue lining, before making good and replacing the unique original chimney pot! Many thanks, as per usual, to Pen*stone Scaffolding Ltd for their excellent scaffolding saddle which enabled us to work safely and securely!

Todays installation - one of a large number of flue linings we’ve carried out over time at various listed buildings belonging to York Minster. Including the impressive Archbishops palace a number of years ago. Always nice to work alongside their craftsmen on such historic properties!

Another day, another installation, another happy customer!

Large 5 day project completed last week at a beautiful, historic listed building in the South Lakes. 4 Thermocrete linings and 5 stoves all installed and commissioned. Couldn’t have picked a better week weather wise 🌞
