We usually get so busy chatting away with clients that we forget to take photos of our furniture projects, but we managed to catch this one.

We’ve been lucky enough to be the preferred supplier for this brilliant business, and this was their fifth office refurb with us so far!

This project included a full design and build, a revamp of 1600 height adjustable desks, slim pedestals, executive office chairs and bespoke privacy panels. We also took care of removing the old furniture, delivering and installing the new setup, and finishing it all off with a fresh clean.

Massive thanks to the SS team for always representing us so well. It’s a pleasure working with both the team and this client!

Right, on to the next office... Ill try remember to take a photo next time and you can let me know what common theme you spot with their design choices!

Fletchers Waste Management progress update.

Since the last update, the project has moved from uncertainty into controlled delivery.

Following appointment under Design and Build, we progressed into detailed design and quickly identified that the information inherited from the previous consultancy, after nearly 2 years of work, was not suitable for the client’s operational needs or deliverable within the existing constraints.

We reset the approach.

Through detailed design development and option testing, a fully compliant and buildable steel portal framed waste transfer station was established, aligned with how the site actually needs to operate.

In parallel, material issues were identified with both the ground investigation data and elements of the planning position. These were worked through and resolved, allowing the project to move forward with confidence.

Where information has been incomplete or incorrect, we have taken ownership of the decisions needed to keep the project moving.

The project has now been on site for several months, with early works complete and piling operations underway. Through early intervention and disciplined decision making, programme certainty has been recovered and avoidable cost exposure removed before it could crystallise.

From a client side perspective, the value has been in control and clarity.

What Steve & Samantha's Consultancy LTD have delivered so far:
• Built the full tender pack and managed the full tender process
• Assessed 4 contractor returns and provided a clear professional recommendation
• Taken on full project management responsibility, managing the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer from inception through to completion

This project had become a significant source of pressure for the client. That burden has now been removed, allowing focus to return to day to day operations while the project progresses in a controlled way.

Credit to Lodestone Projects for engaging properly in the detail and driving solutions forward as part of the team.

Independent client side oversight is often what unlocks progress when projects stall or drift. If you are dealing with a similar situation, happy to have a quiet conversation.

Further projects within the wider business are now progressing toward appointment.

Last May we started the Birthday Bag Scheme! - I know, time flies eh?

After sharing it on local community pages in Bradford, it blew up massively to help spread the word. Since then, in less than a year, we are incredibly proud to say that over 100 children across the Bradford district have woken up on their birthday with presents to open!

The only purpose of this scheme is to make sure no child wakes up to nothing on their birthday.

We want to continue helping families where we can, but we do need to set a few clear boundaries so the scheme can remain sustainable, fair, and respectful.

The Birthday Bags are funded entirely from our own business profits. We are not a registered charity and there is no ulterior motive. This is something we choose to do privately and discreetly, purely for the children.

Because of this, we now ask that requests come directly from parents or carers themselves. We are no longer able to accept requests made on someone else’s behalf or deliver bags to third party addresses. If you need a bag for your own child, please feel free to message us directly.

If you have multiple children, we kindly ask that you only request a bag when a child’s birthday is approaching. Our aim is for each child to feel special on their own birthday.

We also want to gently remind people that this scheme is run in our spare time. We are always happy to help, but we do ask that requests are made respectfully.

Finally, to be clear, no money will be given directly to individuals. We have previously donated £100 to Queensbury Foodbank to support Christmas gifts for local children, but outside of established organisations, this scheme is about birthday bags only. Under no circumstances will this be changed.

I’m sorry to have to clarify all of this, but it’s important to protect something that means a great deal to us.

Our goal remains the same. To make sure no child wakes up to nothing on their birthday, and to ensure this scheme can continue for those who truly need it.

🎁 No Child Should Wake Up to Nothing on Their Birthday 🎂

Everyone pulls together at Christmas… but what about the children living in poverty who won’t receive a single gift on their birthday?

We’ve been at the bottom. We get it. That’s why we’re quietly launching a Birthday Gift Bag Initiative—because no child should feel forgotten on their special day, no matter their circumstances.

We’ve created gift bags for boys and girls, each with 5–6 presents, a birthday card (left blank for you to write in), and a party-style gift bag. These are available free of charge and can be delivered locally within 10 miles of Clayton, Bradford.

🎈 Bags are recommended for ages 3–7, but may also be suitable for older children with disabilities—just let us know the child’s needs and we’ll do our best to match.
🎈 We currently have available (7 boys' and 6 girls' bags).
🎈 When they run out, we will refresh them—so please give us as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment. If you have an older child please let us know with some notice and we can get sorted.

There’s no catch, no judgement, no social media posts. Just drop us a private message—no need to comment publicly—and we’ll sort it quietly and respectfully.

We know times are hard. Bills and food come first. But if we can help bring even a little joy, then this is our way of giving back.

Christmas Sign-Off & 2025 Reflection

From tomorrow, we’ll be logging off social media until the New Year.
We’ll still be fully active and supporting our ongoing clients as normal, but we’re pressing pause on socials to enjoy Christmas properly.

Before we do, it feels only right to reflect on what has been a truly incredible year for SS Consultants.

2025 has been BIG!

This year we:
• Opened our sister company SS Furniture Supplies, quickly building a strong and growing client base and laying the foundations for some very exciting expansion in 2026
• Launched SS Templates, which continues to grow day by day
• Completed several PM projects across the UK, alongside delivering four multi-million-pound projects currently live (and yes, this is one of the main reasons Steve is going grey… definitely not Sam, no matter what he says)
• Continued to grow our Health & Safety consultancy, now supporting 55+ ongoing clients and counting
• Became Bloom accredited in January, allowing us to work with schools and launch SS Sensory Pods, creating more inclusive environments alongside our office pods
• Had the surreal experience of seeing our faces on 113 billboards across England (Obviously didn't visit ALL 113 but surreal nonetheless!)
• Attended Steve’s MCIOB graduation in May... STEVEN COATES MCIOB. One of the highest qualifications you can get in construction
• Helped over 100 families across Bradford through our Birthday Bag Campaign, thanks to your support making our post go viral!
• Celebrated the launch of Steve’s book, “Thrive 360: A cynics guide to self-help”, now available on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrive-360-Cynics-Guide-Self-Help-ebook/dp/B0F74WC9RQ ) , which has since led to lecturing, keynote speeches and talks delivered worldwide, opened doors to working with agencies connected to the likes of Sir Alan Sugar and Sir Richard Branson, and a role with Wolverhampton University tackling mental health in construction, with China firmly on the horizon for 2026
• Both completed our Micro MBAs, while maintaining our 5⭐ Google rating

On a more personal note:
• We’ve found an SEN school that’s a perfect fit for Oscar, with big plans ahead for him in 2026
• And we’ve booked our wedding date for late next year 💍

None of this would have been possible without the people around us.

And to Oscar, for coming along to sites, meetings and drop-offs without ever really understanding why yet taking it all in his stride and being nothing short of amazing.

Looking back, it’s impossible not to feel emotional about how far we’ve come.
