PAD Technology Ltd specialise in the design, manufacture and commissioning of bespoke electrical products for the energy industry, with a focus on solar PV, battery storage and EV.
This role will ideally suit an Electrical Design Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career and further develop their skills.
The successful candidate will have experience designing electrical power circuits and be able to design bespoke products and control panels.
Skills and Qualifications

Qualified Electrical Design Engineer

Designing bespoke products and control panels

Cable calculations, designs and schematic drawings

Attend site visits and carry out assessment of existing electrical infrastructure.

Prioritise electrical safety management

Protection coordination and selectivity studies using software.

Specification of electrical components and systems

Understanding of civil and structural requirements of electrical installations.

Writing technical proposals and costing jobs

Providing technical support

PLC programming

Interest / experience in SCADA and monitoring communications systems

Experience in electrical CAD

Ideally HV design experience

Full UK driving license

This role requires electro-mechanical product assembly and quality control.

The responsibilities of the Assembly Technician:

Responsibility of health and safety in the production area including keeping the work area tidy and replacement of tools and jigs.

Completing the mandatory training and refresher courses provided for the production line.

First Time Right mentality is a key skill.

Adhering to the delivery deadlines and completion of assemblies to a very high standard.

Conduct stringent quality tests on assemblies following an agreed protocol.

Movement of materials in / out of the warehouse, including packaging and palletising.

Be responsible for the storage of tools and equipment in the workshop.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a workshop / factory production environment.

Essential skills

First Time Right mentality

Self motivation, strong organisational and time management skills

A strong focus on quality and consistency in product delivery

Confident in using software tools to manage product delivery

A strong finisher - to ensure product is delivered on time and to budget

Desirable Skills

Production line experience

Manufacturing line experience

Qualified first aider (candidates without this skill will be given the opportunity to attend a training course)

Forklift driving certificate (candidates without this skill will be given the opportunity to attend a training course)

This is a diverse role split between production management / administration, product assembly and quality control. The successful candidate will manage a team of between 2 and 4 people initially, including assembly technicians and an administrative assistant.

The responsibilities of the Product Manager and Senior Technician:
Initial responsibilities will include the setup of the workshop and recruitment of the assembly team.
Development of training materials (both video tutorials and written SOPs.)
Responsibility of health and safety in the production area.
Ensuring and all staff members have completed the mandatory training and refresher courses provided for the production line, including record keeping.
First Time Right mentality is a key skill.
Taking responsibility for the management of delivery deadlines and procurement of parts.
Manage the completion of assemblies to a very high standard.
Conduct stringent quality tests on assemblies following an agreed protocol.
Take responsibility for the management of warehousing space and the movement of materials in / out of the warehouse.
Manage the storage of tools and equipment in the workshop, to improve upon the current level of organisation and tidiness in the workshop.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a workshop / factory production environment and management of small technical based teams.
