Heeresflieger NH Industries NH90 TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter) and Airbus Helicopters EC665 Tiger UHT attack helicopters

One of the many highlights of the IlA Berlin 2026 show is the appearance of the German Naval Aviation (Marineflieger) first Boeing P-8 Poseidon. The order was initially for 8 x aircraft and now they are looking to purchase and other 4.

Highlights of IlA Berlin is celebrating the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) 70 years. Their platforms such as the Sikorsky CH-53G/GS Sea Stallion which is heading into its final decade before being replaced by the Boeing H-47F Chinook and the Panavia Tornado PA200 IDS (Interdcition Defence Strike and ECR (Electronic Combat Reconnaissance) which will be replaced by the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II. The German Armed Forces - Bundeswehr exhibited their Airbus Helicopters H145M both the LUH-SAR (Light Utility helicopter Search And Rescue) of the German Army Aviation (Heeresflieger) and new H145M LUH, while the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) had their H145M LUH SOF (Light Utility Helicopter Special Operations Force). Ian V. Frain, Helian like to thank Lockheed Martin for their kind hospitality with briefing on the Sikorsky S-97 Raider as it’s the second time since Paris Air Show 2025 that the Raider with the X2 high speed technology has appeared. It forms the basis for the NATO Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability (NGRC) study.

Also Ian V. Frain, Helian had the opportunity to sit in the F-35A mock up painted in Luftwaffe markings as the construction and assembly of the first air CT aft is taking place in Fort Worth, Dallas.

Also here at ILA Berlin 2026 Ian V. Frain, Helian so like to thank Airbus Helicopters for their kind hospitality as attended brief at Airbus chalet on the U145 uncrewed autonomous of their successful H145. Also on the static are the Pioneer Lab uses also a H145 airframe. The major highlight is the second appearance of the high speed hybrid Racer (Rapid & Cost Effective Rotorcraft) which also flew.
