1 Year Old Boiler Knackered! 😲
Today we returned to a call out from last week. The customer had a brand new boiler installed just one year ago but the installation had been rushed and the original central heating system was never flushed. As a result, sludge and debris built up in the system and caused the boiler to fail after only a year.
When the customer tried to contact the original installer, they were ghosted and given nothing but excuses. We took it upon ourselves to contact the manufacturer on the customer’s behalf and explained that we would be returning to properly flush the system. Despite the system water being black with dirt, the manufacturer agreed to honour the warranty call.
This highlights just how important it is to have a clean heating system when fitting a new boiler. If your system water is dirty, most manufacturers will void the boiler warranty.
The boiler has now been flushed and serviced, and the customer can enjoy peace of mind knowing their boiler is covered under warranty and will run more efficiently without having to pump thick, sludgy water around the system.
