Sometimes a hidden water leak isn’t obvious inside the property 🚰

This customer suspected there may be an issue with the incoming water main, so the first step was checking the water meter.

After turning the internal stop tap off completely, the meter was still moving — confirming water was continuing to flow somewhere on the incoming supply.

This usually points to a leak on the rising main coming into the property.

Leaks like this can often go unnoticed for a long time and may lead to:
• unexpectedly high water bills
• damp ground or driveways
• reduced water pressure
• potential property damage over time

Proper investigation and fault finding helps identify the issue before it becomes a much bigger problem.

This radiator valve had been slowly leaking for quite some time — with the system being regularly topped up instead of the underlying issue being repaired.

Unfortunately, even small leaks can eventually cause damage over time, including to flooring, pipework and the heating system itself.

If you find yourself constantly topping up boiler pressure or noticing small drips around radiators or valves, it’s always worth getting it checked sooner rather than later.

Thankfully this one is now repaired and back working properly.

Peacefully on 28th November at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Ted, aged 82 years, of Parkfields Road, Bridgend. Much loved and devoted husband of the late Gillian, dearly loved Dad of Stephen and Susan, loved father-in-law of Paula and Phil, devoted Papa to his grandchildren Morgan, Bethan, Gwilym and Iolo and great-grandchildren Austin and Eloise and loved by Maddie, Ana and Rebecca.

Ted will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
