🚛 East Coast Run 2026 🚛
On Sunday, we attended the East Coast Run at Sewerby with our Dad/Grandad's Commer truck.

It was a lovely day from start to finish, with a fantastic turnout and plenty of vehicles on display. It was great to catch up with friends, see familiar faces, and have a look around at all the other vehicles taking part.

The whole family came along, which made the day even more special. It's always nice to get the old truck out and about and see how much interest it still attracts.

We've attached a few photos from the day and hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed being there.

You'd be surprised how much scrap metal people have tucked away in sheds, garages and workshops without even realising it.
Old copper pipe, brass fittings, Lead, Aluminium, Batteries, Household Cable, Scrap and even old machinery can all be worth bringing in rather than taking up space.

If you're not sure whether we take something, or have any questions at all, just give us a ring on 01262 675833 and we'll do our best to help.

We thought we'd share this photo of our beloved Dad/Grandad today. Many of our customers will remember him from his years in the yard. He played a huge part in building Wilkinson Scrap Metal Merchants into what it is today, and we're proud to continue the family business.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all our customers old and new and friends for the support lately. We are incredibly proud to have been running this family business for over 100 years, but as many of you know, this last year has been a really tough one for us as a family.
