We’re excited to announce our partnership with Jersey Electricity, Horizon Power & Energy, and Geomarine to build Jersey’s first ground-mount solar farm!

Our team has been hard at work over the past few months, carefully preparing for this landmark project. It’s been a fantastic experience collaborating with such dedicated partners, and our delivery team has loved every moment spent on the beautiful Jersey Island.

The Big Solar Co-op is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to putting solar on every suitable big roof in Britain. We partnered with Basingstoke Energy Services Co-op to install 763 panels with a capacity of 294kWp on a Big Solar Co-op project for Kerry Taste & Nutrition.

🌱 Financed by the Big solar co-op, Kerry T&N is set to save nearly £200,000 over the next two decades, without any capital investment! Alongside cost savings, they will also see an impressive reduction of 52 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the very first year!

🌱🌍 We have planted over 500 tree with Ecologi, and we couldn't be prouder of this achievement. 🌳

As a renewables business, we are constantly striving to find innovative ways to reduce our carbon emissions and contribute to a greener future. Joining forces with Ecologi, a Bristol-based B Corp UK start-up, was a no-brainer for us two years ago.

Ecologi directly funds and supports climate projects worldwide. Projects are Gold Standard accredited, ensuring the highest level of environmental integrity.

Through our partnership with Ecologi, we've had the privilege of contributing to reforestation and carbon avoidance projects, helping to restore and preserve precious ecosystems around the globe. 🌎

The impact of these projects extends beyond their ability to absorb carbon dioxide. They not only provide habitats for countless species and improve air quality but also strengthen the livelihoods of the people living in the local communities.

Last year, Ecogen Energy worked with Eastleigh Borough Council to relocate and optimise 3.5 acres of groundmount solar at the One Horton Heath development in Hampshire.

As part of our commitment to social values, we have offered to install a 4 kWp system for a charity located within the Eastleigh Borough region.

We are delighted to announce that we will be installing the system at the Baden Powell Lodge, which is a Guide and Scout centre, next month.

The centre has 492 regular users:
➡️ 162 Scouts
➡️ 175 Guides
➡️ 45 pre-schoolers
➡️ 110 Roverang members

Between them, they run 17 weekly groups and provide opportunities for 300+ children aged 4-18.

Inclusivity is key at the centre:
▪️ it has step free access and a fully maintained lift making it accessible to all.
▪️ through low hire fees (approximately 50-60% of commercial fees) these groups can keep members subscriptions low and accessible to those from low-income families.

We're delighted to share that our client, BLOQS, has taken a major step forward on their sustainability journey with the installation of 112kW of rooftop solar PV in just 1.5 weeks.

Thanks to the work of the Ecogen Energy team, BLOQS has significantly reduced their reliance on the grid, and their yearly carbon emissions are estimated to drop by an impressive 17 tonnes.

But that's not all! With a payback period of under 3 years and a lifetime bill saving of £1,125,000, this investment will have a huge impact on their bottom line for years to come.

As Britain’s largest open-access workshop for professional makers, BLOQS is leading the way in sustainable business practices. The savings from their investment in solar will be reinvested in machinery, improving their services and diversifying their capacity, creating a brighter future for everyone.
