We are building a TinySNUG.
Same use of low embodied energy materials, with an air tight design and triple glazed doors and windows. We are exploring different forms of insulation. In this TinySNUG, we have used recycled denim jeans (Innotherm), recycled newspaper(Warmcell) and recycled plastic (Supasoft).
Cladding we are still exploring, although the end walls will use larch timber cladding.
Insides still to be done.

SNUG Homes is partnering with Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust, Community Climate Action, Bristol Energy Network, C.H.E.E.S.E. and Ecomotive to deliver 'Futureproof Your Home', a community event in Lockleaze this weekend.

You’re welcome to drop by our SNUG pop-up construction site in Lockleaze tomorrow, Saturday, between 12-2pm, where you can:
⁃ Talk with our experienced team about ecological building products and materials
⁃ Find out how you could get involved in community-led housing and self build
⁃ Take a sneaky peek at one of our part-built SNUG home modules
⁃ Learn about opportunities to boost your skills and meet new people through our construction training and volunteering activities.

Only 26 days until COP26 is set to begin in Glasgow! This could well be the world’s last major chance to get climate change under control.

The construction industry has a key role to play in this and lots must be done to meet the challenge, for example by prioritising net zero-carbon housing. Our hard work seems to be paying off as we go for the hat-trick of awards this year and we are very proud to announce that SNUG has been shortlisted for the Wood Awards 2021 (as well as the Structural Timver Awards). The competition which aims to celebrate all forms of excellence in architecture and product design using wood.
