Considering sash windows for your home? Here’s a trick that makes them worth it.

Open the top sash slightly as well as the bottom. Warm air escapes through the top gap while cooler air comes in at the bottom, creating a gentle flow through the room without a draught.

One thing to watch in this hot weather: keep windows closed during the day while it’s warmer outside than in. Wait until the evening or early morning when the outside air has cooled down, then open up and let that cooler air move through the house.

Turns out the Victorians knew a thing or two about staying cool!

Start at Home helps you install a heat pump in your own property, building real skills and confidence through hands-on experience. Not a training course. The actual job.

Sign up with a scheme provider, get the kit you need, get support with design and installation, and you're ready to offer heat pumps to your customers.
