Updates on the closure of Coppermill Engineering:

This morning we say farewell to these three superb vertical CNC machining centres, who have effortlessly and accurately produced work here for the Hydraulics, Rail, Automotive, Marine, Motorsport, Agriculture and any other Swineford Mill’s own ‘The Repair Shop’ repair or renew items that have graced the building since establishing in 1970.

Also a big thank you to Dan, Kev & Trevor over the past few weeks for your help and to Richard & Colin from ‘Russell Transport Services’ of Cheltenham for their efforts throughout the day, safely removing the three machining centres through the low doorways and gantries and manoeuvring over the uneven floors of the mill site, excellent service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for lifting of these proportions, thanks Guys.

Thanks for all the kind comments and all the help from friends and ex colleagues for dropping in to help out, chat and check up on me, really appreciate it ❤️

It is with great sadness that Coppermill Engineering has now closed after 55 years of trading at the old Copper Mill in Swineford, Bristol.

The last orders now just being completed and machinery and tooling removed from the premises over the next month.

Massive thanks to Dan and Kev who have stayed until the last minute, working hard to get the last few jobs out the door before leaving, it’s been a tough few years.
Both have found new jobs and I wish them all the very best in their next steps through life.

Please get in touch if any machinery, associated tooling or inspection equipment may be of interest. Also shelving and steel cabinets available.

Machinery still for sale:

2 x Hurco VM1 machining centres, one fitted with 4th axis. 15k for the pair, coolant takes have now been drained.
Both used for light machining since new and are in excellent condition. Spindle tooling available for both as an additional cost.

Thank you to all our loyal customers over the years that we have supplied the absolute best quality components too and the suppliers who have supplied quality heat treatment, tooling and materials to us, it’s been a pleasure to have been part of some extremely high end products located around the world.

And lastly, to my family and friends and all my employees that have stood together by my side over the years, who became part of Coppermill and who always gave their best. Still staying in contact, with many who have paid visits back to the works over the years, which has always been very heartwarming recollecting times past, the night working with 5am bacon butty, the various flooding issues, the friendships and laughter and tears, all will be missed (apart from the flooding) and to the locals in Swineford, all part of the beauty of a rural village and old c1840 mill by the river Avon.

It’s been my life, my passion, my wildlife photography hide and a brilliant acoustic building to play my favourite music in .. not to mention the two ghosts that frequent the old mill.
I will miss it dearly.
