Underwood Centre Full Story Part 2:
It's 2010 and we've been forced to shut the yard and workshop. The bubble has burst and thousands of construction companies are closing down world wide.
Here's our lame attempt at water proofing the frame we couldn't afford to roof.

Underwood Centre Full Story Part 1:
It's June 2009 at the Park Center in Knowle where we ran the 'not for profit' Timber Routes. At that time I was production manager and chief designer. We had a large 4 bedroom Oak frame in the shop to be exported to Guernsey. We needed the extra space with gantry hoist and anticipated further larger projects. So, using leftover Douglas Fir, we built this French style barn whilst waiting for a delayed Oak timber delivery.

The Underwood Centre

Its design and construction are of a very high quality – Paul is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, great to work with and to learn from. We quickly realised its potential, and it has since served our community in so many ways: as an outdoor learning and meeting resource for children and adults, a workshop for our volunteers, a shelter and play space for new and regular visitors, a theatre set, and most significantly for our revenue; as a beautiful, rustic wedding venue. It fits perfectly into the landscape and almost looks like it was always there.
