Full Circle: The cutter 'Pellew', rigged by Jay in 2020 has sailed into Hull marina. Jay learnt his trade as an apprentice from Hull born Master Rigger Dennis Platten who set up business in Bristol, having, in turn served his time splicing trawl warps on ull fish docks in the 1960s. full circle indeed.

Not just a boat.

Pellew is a purpose-built, ocean-ready vessel that would allow us to expand our reach and support more veterans facing challenges like isolation, anxiety, physical injury and low confidence.

We hope that through enough donations and sponsorship, we can bring Pellew into the Turn to Starboard fleet. With her by our side, we’ll be able to give more veterans the chance to rebuild confidence, find purpose and reconnect with life through wellbeing, sailing activities and community.

This is more than a boat. It’s a future full of opportunity for those who have served 🖤

We are excited to announce that the building works to bring back The Big Shed and the adjoining workshops are due to start this December!

We cannot thank our community enough - thanks to the generous support from groups, businesses, and individuals, we are now in a position to rebuild. The works will take just over a year, so in January 2027 the Yard will be back to the thriving, working boatyard we all know and love.

From the entire team here at Underfall Yard, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

But the work is not done yet! We still have £100,000 to raise to make sure our historic site is suitable for the needs of a modern boatyard and to help us deliver exciting new boatbuilding projects and courses. You can donate to our JustGiving page or visit Underfall Cafe, where every purchase directly supports The Underfall Yard Trust.

(and don't worry, The Yard, Visitor Centre and cafe will still be open during the rebuild - we're not going anywhere!)
