Most underfloor heating systems are hydronic – which means they use a liquid solution to distribute heat via a network of pipes.

But when a hydronic installation isn’t practical – for instance, in a retrofit project or a single room – then electric underfloor heating can be a great solution.

Installed on top of the subfloor, electric underfloor heating has an ultra slimline profile that adds little to the floor height. It’s ideal for bathrooms and wetrooms, and can even be used to heat tiled walls and mirrors.

The UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) was launched in May and supports the decarbonisation of home heating by offering grants towards alternatives to gas and oil boilers, including:

⭐ £5000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
⭐ £6000 off the cost and installation of a ground or water source heat pump

£450 million in grant funding is available over three years and installers are eligible to apply on behalf of property owners.
