☀️ Another successful project completed. 🔧

We’ve been busy carefully removing a solar thermal array to allow roof repair works to take place. 🏠

All components were removed safely, thoroughly cleaned, and stored ready for reinstallation. 🧽📦

I’m pleased to report that the entire array was removed with zero breakages ✅, ensuring everything is ready to be refitted once the roofing works have been completed.

We’ll be returning once the roof repairs are finished to reinstall the solar thermal system and bring it back into operation. ♻️☀️🔧

An oil-fired boiler recently developed multiple faults due to a lack of regular maintenance.
The boiler had not been serviced for a number of years, resulting in several components failing and the burner becoming unreliable. Many of these issues could have been identified and rectified during routine annual servicing before they developed into a costly repair.
Fortunately, we were able to diagnose the faults, carry out repairs to the burner, and restore the boiler to safe and reliable operation.
Regular servicing not only helps prevent breakdowns but also improves efficiency, reduces running costs, and extends the life of your heating system.

This week we’ve been carrying out a service on a Mitsubishi air source heat pump.
Regular servicing is essential to keep heat pumps operating efficiently and maintaining a good Coefficient of Performance (COP).

Without proper maintenance, efficiency can gradually decrease, leading to higher running costs and reduced performance.

Routine servicing helps identify potential issues before they become costly repairs, ensuring the system continues to provide reliable heating and hot water throughout the year.

(HMS) Heating Management System Upgrade

A heating management system I originally installed 17 years ago, when I was just 21 years old, recently required an upgrade. The original HMS controller had started losing its stored times and dates, causing intermittent heating and hot water timing issues. As the original controls had now been superseded, the only long-term solution was to upgrade the system to the latest touchscreen controls.

This HMS system controls:• Two underfloor heating circuits• The boiler• A solar thermal array feeding a naturally layered thermal store

The thermal store is capable of supplying domestic hot water at up to 25 LPM, utilising a plate heat exchanger and flow switch with domestic hot water recirculation to provide near-instant hot water to any tap within the manor.

The solar thermal store is designed for winter solar gain, meaning it not only provides domestic hot water but also contributes towards the heating circuits. On sunny days like today, the manor requires no input from the gas boiler, utilising free solar-generated domestic hot water and evening heating when required.

The upgraded HMS system also allows full remote access via smartphone or internet-connected devices, including:• Remote control and monitoring• Data logging• Fault diagnostics for engineers without the need to attend site

Always satisfying returning to systems you installed many years ago and bringing them up to modern standards.

Two Ideal boiler heat exchanger sump replacements in one week.

One customer had previously been told by another company that the boiler was beyond repair and would need replacing. At Burbage Heating & Plumbing Services, we will only recommend replacing a boiler if it is genuinely unsafe or truly at the end of its lifespan.

Where possible, we believe in carrying out the correct repairs to keep systems running safely and reliably for our customers. 🔧🔥👷‍♂️

Another emergency boiler replacement completed for a customer. We reacted quickly to restore the heating and hot water as the customer had young children at home.

Full steam ahead today with the whole team working hard to complete a full central heating installation 🔧

Upgrading the property from electric storage heaters to a modern, efficient system. The customer needed a quick turnaround to get the property ready for rental, and we’re pushing on to deliver exactly that.
