A customer recently sent us this video showing the successful drilling of a 26mm Ø hole through a 25 mm thick Hardox 400 (Acier 400) wear plate using our Endurance Plus cutter.

Hardox 400 is specifically designed to resist wear and abrasion, making it one of the more demanding materials to machine. To achieve the best results, the drill was carefully set up with all column movement eliminated, cutting fluid fed directly through the cutter head, and the machine run at approximately 200 RPM.

Throughout the drilling process, the operator maintained a consistent light-to-medium feed pressure while closely monitoring swarf evacuation and cutter feedback. The result was a clean, accurate hole with excellent cutter performance in a challenging application.
