Not every underfloor heating project is straightforward — and that's exactly where we come in. 🏠
We recently completed one of our most complex installations to date: a 1970s bungalow that had been extended on both sides, but without underfloor heating factored into the build.
Here's what we were dealing with:
▪️Three different floor levels across the property
▪️A mix of uninsulated suspended timber and insulated concrete floors
▪️One extension with an uneven concrete finish
▪️New open-plan spaces that crossed both floor types — and we didn't want to mix systems within a single room
Several suppliers had already struggled to find a workable solution. The homeowner came to us.
Our team carried out a full site survey and designed a two-phase installation across 163m²:
Phase 1 — remedial work to level the floors and prepare surfaces for installation. Because we have our own in-house screeding service, we handled this ourselves — no extra contractors, no coordination headaches.
Phase 2 — a routed panel system to 105m² and a pipe-in-screed system to the remaining 53m², with two manifolds carefully positioned to serve different zones efficiently.
The result? A fully level floor throughout, consistent heat output across every room, no split systems in open-plan spaces, and smart thermostat control via an app.
The customer was delighted. We were quietly pleased too. 😄
If you've got a renovation or extension with complications — different floor types, varying heights, phased works — we're the team to call. We don't just design systems, we understand how every decision translates into the actual install.
