So we have started ANOTHER barn conversion this week in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside 🤩 complete with resident sheep 🐑

This one is a difficult project in MANY ways! 🤔 the large trees close by, a steel portal frame that is wonkier than Quasimodos coat hanger and some awkward planners that are hellbent on keeping as much of the original building as possible! 😬

But with a cracking architect and structural engineer, a client who is motivated but also relaxed in all the right ways and a developer (us!!) who love a good challenge 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 this wonky old barn that housed livestock years ago will be transformed into an amazing home in a highly desirable location 😍

Some great progress on the barn build 👌🏻🤙🏻

✅ all of the steels are now in apart from 2 x cranked steels that need templating above the balcony and gallery landing to create huge windows!!

✅ the first floor joists are in and completely decked out

✅ all studded walls are up both on the ground floor and second floor Inc racking walls 👌🏻

The next steps are to erect a full scaffold wrap, install a new standing seam steel roof, windows and external finishings to get completely watertight once decisions have been made 🙌🏻

A little sneak peak video from the barn job 🤩

The first floor is all in 🙌🏻 🕺🏻 we will do a full walk through video when all knock throughs are done and we have got more time!… but in the meanwhile just get a glimpse of these views from the balcony area 😍

A nice 40sq mtr annexe we have recently started in Leicestershire! 👌🏻

We had to pull 1.8mtr footings on the right hand side and step back up to 1.2mtrs on the left due to a mains drain running through the boundary feeding the estate!! 😳

But all footings poured, bricked up to DPC, block and beam installed, 150mm insulation laid, UFH pipes installed and a 90mm top layer of screed to FFL.

Next step is getting the shell up after the half term holidays 🙌🏻😎

Some solid progress on the barn job this week! 🙌🏻 😎

✅ sub slab laid
✅ DPM installed
✅ 150mm celotex installed
✅ another layer of DPM
✅ 1.4 KILOMETRES of underfloor heating installed! 😳
✅ 8mm steel mesh installed everywhere
✅ and finally a 120mm of liquid screed pumped in!

We now have a nice solid base to work off so the next steps are to install all of the steel work needed for the balcony and new openings! 💪🏻

Well the weathers been fun! 😑🤥

We have managed to finally catch up on the barn conversion project around the biblical weather!

✅ Internal walls built up to DPC
✅ 2 x steel columns installed to take floor joists and balcony area
✅ internal drainage is in
✅ a 200mm sub base of well compacted of type 1 stone has been laid..

Next steps are to get some more block work up, insulate floors, install underfloor heating, install steel mesh above and cast the finished slab 👌🏻…. Oh and carry on praying for some dry weather 🙏🏻

We’ve Just started a grand barn conversion build for some amazing clients with big visions!! 🤩

The Weather hasn’t been kind to us over the last week or so at all but internal footings have been excavated and poured 🙌🏻

Now it’s just the mammoth task of removing over 100cubic metres of earth ready for the floor slab build up 😬

This one’s going to be a fun one!
