Gym garden room completed in Surrey, this was designed with the clients to meet the needs of the entire family to have work outs during covid. Fully air conditioned for them warm summer days but also very high insulation values keep it warm in the winter too.
Overall size, 8.4m by 3.9m.
The roof has a warm deck roof design with 150mm PIR insulation (equivalent to roughly 300mm of loft roll)
The walls have 100mm PIR insulation making this garden room more thermally efficient than their house.
125mm, rebar reinforced concrete slab foundation with 150mm compacted sub-base
3 windows measuring 1.8m wide by 1.2m high allow plenty of light in and also give that “work out, outside” feel.
A 6mm2 SWA cable on a 32A supply feeds the garden room with hard wired gigabit Ethernet run directly from their homes router.
A large overhang helps to prevent solar warming keeping the garden room cooler and also makes a lovely space to hang a hammock with the hooks already installed.
