The project also included alterations to the parapet wall and the installation of a forklift safety gate for secure goods handling.

HGV Mechanic / Fitter – Bury

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanic / Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis, working from our workshop in Bury.

The Role -

You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of approximately 30 vehicles, ranging from small vans through to 44-tonne HGVs and trailers, along with a small number of plant items.

Key duties include:

• Servicing, repair, and maintenance of company vehicles
• Carrying out 6-weekly inspections on our HGV fleet
• Preparing and presenting vehicles for annual MOT tests
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
• The majority of work will be carried out on site at our workshop
• Occasional site call-outs for breakdowns when required

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV mechanic / fitter
• Valid HGV Class 1 Licence (essential)
• Knowledge of Scania vehicles would be an advantage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
