With the Mille Miglia historic event taking place this weekend, we thought we’d show something different we were asked to make some years ago.
In 1955 Sir Stirling Moss and navigator Denis Jenkinson won the Mille Miglia, driving the iconic #722 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. Famously, part of their pre-event strategy was to drive the course and make pace notes of every single part of the route. These were recorded on a continuous “roll” of paper that Jenkinson could scroll through and relay the information to Moss.
Sir Stirling approached C&G to produce exact replicas of this iconic piece of kit. We were lent the actual original one to copy, including reproducing all of “Jenks” hand written notes.
