Lean-to roof repair completed in Tideswell 👌

The first 4 courses of slate had previously been concreted down and nailed on, which caused the slates to crack from the nail holes as the roof naturally moved over time while the slates couldn’t.

We carefully stripped back the slates, removed all existing concrete, and relaid the roof properly to allow the slates to breathe and move as intended 🏠🔨

A much healthier, longer-lasting repair ready for all weather conditions.

New lead soakers and flashings completed 🔨

The old “cockney style” lead had been cut straight, leaving gaps for water to get into the brickwork. It wasn’t fixed or sealed properly, and sections were already slipping out—far from watertight.

With the Derbyshire weather, that kind of work just doesn’t last. We stripped everything back, lifted the inner row of slates to make sure the felt was correctly installed, and started fresh.

Now fitted with individual soakers for every tile and stepped flashings for each stone course—built to handle the elements properly and stand the test of time. 💪
