🏁 The Rat Run – 1,300 Miles, One £600 Banger & Three Idiots!
Well, we’ve only gone and entered The Rat Run!
Myself, my brother Trefor Parry, and our co-driver Rhys Richards are taking on around 1,300 miles from Dover to Benidorm — in a car that’s allowed to be worth no more than £600!
Our trusty steed? A Mazda 6. 🚗💨
But this isn’t just about the adventure. We’re doing it to raise money for three very special and deserving causes, each of which means a huge amount to us.
❤️ The Walton Centre
Last year, my wife Gwen became seriously ill and underwent an incredible 18-hour operation to remove a vestibular schwannoma.
The care, expertise and compassion Gwen received from everyone at The Walton Centre was quite simply indescribable. Her recovery has been amazing, and we will always be hugely grateful to the fantastic people who looked after her.
❤️ Porthi Dre, Caernarfon
Gwen has found a new vocation volunteering at Porthi Dre, a community hub in the heart of Caernarfon tackling poverty, reducing food waste and helping combat loneliness.
Volunteering there has played a really important part in Gwen’s recovery, and Porthi Dre and the amazing work they do are now very close to her heart.

And last, but certainly by no means least, our co-driver Rhys Richards suffered a stroke in 2023, affecting his right side.
The care and support Rhys received at Ysbyty Eryri played a huge part in his recovery, and we’re delighted that he’s now joining us on this mad adventure!
