Removal of modern decorative gates situated at the entrance to Polstrong Manor House, Camborne.

The gates were damaged beyond repair after being struck by, what was thought to be, a large agricultural vehicle. The gates and associated decorative ironwork were relatively recent additions to the property (approximately 25 years old) and the scrap steel weighed ¾ ton.

The cylinder oiler of the 1840 beam engine at Levant Mine required repair. The oiler is mounted on the cylinder head of the engine and dates back to when the engine was built.

The problem was the thread in the cast iron ball had stripped. We could not alter the thread on the wrought iron rod because it dates from 1840 and is a pre Whitworth thread.

The large thread is 9/16 by 11 TPI and the small thread is 15/32
by 12 TPI. We drilled and tapped the end of the wrought iron rod M8 diameter, Tig welded a short length of studding into the hole and then drilled and tapped the cast iron ball, therefore preserving the original thread.

We are currently restoring a classic Oatey & Martyn Cornish Range for a customer whose property is situated near Camelford.

This particular model of Cornish Range is most commonly found stretching from Wadebridge to St Austell and further eastwards.

The restoration commenced with the removal of the range from its original location. Once moved to our workshop, the range was dismantled before all parts underwent shot blasting to remove rust.

At present, we are repairing the various parts of the range prior to reassembly.

Design and Fabrication of Bespoke Weight Box
We have successfully designed, manufactured, and installed a custom-made weight box for Camborne RFC. This bespoke unit was specifically created to be attached to a tractor, meeting the club’s unique requirements and specifications.

The process involved careful planning and craftsmanship to ensure the weight box was robust, functional, and seamlessly compatible with the existing tractor equipment.
