Supporting employee wellbeing goes beyond the workplace. As part of the comprehensive social and wellbeing programme we offer at CVE, we offer annual Health MOTs to all employees, giving them an opportunity to check in on their health and take proactive steps towards a healthier future. Health MOTs are just one element of our year-round programme, which also includes a wide range of social, physical, educational and mental health initiatives designed to help our people feel supported, healthy and empowered to thrive.

Next week we will be attending the 79th International Institute of Welding Assembly & International Conference in Salzburg, where members of our team will be presenting two technical papers showcasing our latest work in electron beam welding (EBW).

On Monday, Max Nentwich will present: Inline Quality Assurance Methods in Electron Beam Welding, exploring the development of quality assurance methods for EBW, with a particular focus on weld depth measurement.

Chris Punshon will be chairing that session - before he takes to the podium on Wednesday to deliver a joint paper with the team from Doosan on: Local Vacuum Electron Beam Welding of Low Alloy Steel of >250 mm Thickness for Pressure Containment Plant. This speech will highlight advances in welding thick-section low alloy steel for pressure containment applications.

The IIW Assembly is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, collaborate with industry experts, and discuss the latest developments in welding and joining technologies. We look forward to connecting with colleagues and delegates throughout the event. If you're attending the IIW Assembly in Salzburg, we'd be delighted to meet you.

Investing in employee wellbeing is about creating opportunities for people to learn, connect and take time out from their day. Last week we hosted a guest speaker to talk about a topic that some might consider very different for an engineering business!

As part of our social and wellbeing programme, we were delighted to welcome Jayshree Arora to CVE HQ to share insights into the latest trends, exploring the innovations, routines and ingredients that have made K-beauty a global phenomenon.

It was a fun and engaging session that sparked plenty of conversation and gave colleagues the chance to discover something new together. This was an event that obviously appealed to our female employees - but it was great to see lots of male attendees too.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this lunchtime session such a success!

Last week we posted about Kairos Power Llc's breaking ground on its Hermes 2 reactor in Oak Ridge. The power-producing reactor will deliver 50 megawatts of electricity to the Tennessee Valley Authority grid to power Google’s data centres in Tennessee and Alabama.

Today, on International Women in Engineering Day, we join the Women's Engineering Society in celebrating the talented women across the UK and within our business at CVE who make a difference every day.

From our mechanical engineers developing innovative solutions, to our production team members delivering quality and precision, and the many women supporting our business across a wide range of roles, their expertise, dedication, and contribution are integral to our success.
