Another successful Aico smoke alarm replacement completed at one of our regular HMO properties in Cambridge.

As part of our ongoing maintenance programme, we replaced ageing alarms to ensure the system continues to provide reliable protection and remains compliant with current standards, including *BS 5839-6* recommendations for domestic fire detection and alarm systems.

Ensuring correct IP ratings is essential to avoid breakdowns.

An example of this is that the enclosure housing the automatic gate controller was no longer adequate, allowing a slug to access the circuit board. This wasn’t good for the slug, but it wasn’t great for the gate controller either!

We were recently called out to a CCTV system that had faulty cameras.

On inspection, the installers had nearly completed the installation of the weather-proof glanding but unfortunately did not tighten the rear compression sufficiently to prevent water ingress and corrosion. The new RJ45's had been terminated and unfortunately, in this instance, the cameras had been damaged so new cameras needed to be installed.

We were recently onsite at Abbey Road, London completing this commissioning work. There were some complex cause and effects required, as grounding lifts was not the most complex part of the cause and effect matrix for this site! But complete testing was still needed, and witness tests were completed as always!
