Last summer we were contacted to help complete the renovation of the new Dice and Destiny shop in Canterbury.

Working alongside other contractors to complete this project in a short space of time we were given the task of completing the floors throughout the property as well as completing the actual shop fit out.

Throughout the upstairs of the property, due to the age of the existing floor joists, Luxury vinyl tiles were considered the best option due to their durability as well as flexibility which would enable the panels to roll and bend with the bumps.
After making the required structural repairs to any old joists, broken floorboards and reinforcing the old staircase, Regency Flooring was contacted by us to help complete the works. This included over boarding throughout the upstairs with ply before installing the required LVT. Their involvement allowed us to concentrate more on the downstairs.

Downstairs again included regulating floor levels, before over boarding and backer boarding where required as part of our preparation for tiling. Matching the oak effect style LVT upstairs, we used porcelain oak effect tiles throughout the downstairs. Once the tiles were down and the walls were decorated, we began completing the shop fit out. This included forming some built in cupboard space in various alcoves, installing industrial style pipe shelving in the two main shop areas, as well as the forming of a bespoke front desk, with a lockable glass cabinet to store more expensive stock.

Working alongside so many other trades and towards a deadline this project required grit and determination as well as continued communication, when considering the standard of outcome, it’s clear to see the project was a success, a credit to all who worked on it.
Make sure to visit the shop for all your tabletop gaming needs and to see the shelves bursting with stock!

These customers ambition was not just to have a new kitchen, but to maximise their downstairs space. In order to do this, we were called to help make it happen.

To make the downstairs more spacious, the kitchen - living room area was made open-plan by taking down its separating wall.
Due to the wall being load-bearing, we installed an RSJ to support the weight above. The RSJ was hidden in the ceiling make up, ensuring the ceiling height was continuous throughout the downstairs.

To maximise the use of the space further, the single back door which entered the existing kitchen was bricked up, and the window into the living room space was changed to a set of uPVC french doors.

Amongst other works the fireplace was increased in size, and a media wall was introduced increasing the living room space even further. Once all adaptations were made and new services ran through the ceiling to feed the new kitchen and media wall. The entire downstairs was drywalled and re-plastered.

With re-decorating completed, the kitchen was installed and a complimenting engineered oak flooring was laid throughout.

The work on this project fully modernised this property, as well as creating a functional space more practical for the family. Another successful build with more happy customers ✅

With a rundown and outdated outhouse building, this plot in St. Nicholas at Wade had a large, wasted space between the house and the existing garage. When the thought of a new connecting extension arose, we were contacted to complete the works. This extension would become a new kitchen area, introduce a downstairs toilet to the property as well as include a utility room.

After the demolition of the outhouse, adjustments to the drainage were made to suit the new format. Once completed we excavated and poured our foundations appropriately. Following this the brickwork was completed to DPC, our initial slab was poured and then the bricklaying continued to plate level.

Working off a scaffolding we pitched the new roof, tying into the existing building and the garage. The new roof included two electric Velux windows, and a mixture of plain and pan tiles were used to match the garage.

Once the roof was weathertight work pressed on inside. Water pipes were adjusted and extended to feed the new boiler, kitchen, toilet and utility appliances. With adaptations made we insulated the floor and completed the screed. Once the screed was finished doors and windows were installed to fully weatherproof the extension, and the connection into the main building was made. To create the opening a suitable RSJ was used to support the load of the building above.

Internal works were completed to a high spec, including an electric cellar door as well as a centre piece Cedar cladding ceiling which catches any eye as soon as you enter.  Electric underfloor heating was laid throughout before being tiled. The bathroom was second fixed and the bespoke kitchen and utility appliances were installed, finished with a quartz worktop.

To complete the project, external shrubbery and untidiness was turned into to a sandstone path leading to the front door, and a large courtyard at the back of the property

This was a great build to for us to complete due to its high-quality spec, and another example of the quality of work achieved at Fudstone Developments. ✅

One of our larger projects from the last 12 months was the continued renovation of Blaxland Farmhouse. Originally a personal project, when circumstances meant that it was unable to be finished the owners turned to us to get the job over the line.

When we began our work, upstairs was the closest to completion. With flooring already laid and staircases in, it then fell to us to run skirting throughout as well as adjust and hang the remaining doors required. The upstairs bathroom although did need attention. Having already been first fixed with the sink already in, we completed the outstanding tiling before installing the shower enclosure and toilet.
The downstairs of the property required a new lime and cement screed throughout which would be the sub-base for a new underfloor heating system. Once installed we then latex over the pipework for protection before tiling the entirety of the downstairs floor.
Following finishing the tiles, the kitchen, utility and boot room were all able to be installed to an impressive standard.

The externals for the project were quite extensive. The required groundworks included the instalment of a large septic tank with inspection chambers, two new soak-aways and extensive pipework to complete the plots new drainage system.
On the surface, the houses surroundings initially were so overgrown and uneven, we scraped off any grass and shrubbery in order to grade the subsoil beneath to a suitable level. After this a slab path was laid surrounding the house as well as a patio area at the back. To complete the externals we installed a new front gate and fence around the plot, gave attention to the stone path leading to the property and dressed the garden in masses of topsoil to fully regulate the area.

A truly beautiful project achieved through some quality craftsmanship. ✅

Due to its original L shape, the owners of this bungalow in Sturry realised that an extension to square the building up would not only increase the size of the kitchen and bathroom but could potentially create another bedroom.
This meant Fudstone were called on to complete the build.

Initially we broke out the existing crazy paving to dig and pour our foundations. Once poured, the brickwork was completed to DPM, the oversight then completed before the brickwork continued up to plate level.

As well as the extension, the customers also wanted the existing flat roof above the dining area to be re-done, this meant that instead of tying our extension roof into the existing, we installed a new wall plate and rafters throughout, creating one new large roof structure.
This new roof then included the introduction of a larger roof light above the dining area, as well as one in the newly extended bathroom.

Once the roof lights were in and the roof was completed, we pressed on with the internals. The floor was insulated and built up to level, alterations made to the layout of the internal walls and plumbing and electrics ran throughout before the extension was plasterboard and plastered.

The installation of the bathroom and reinstating of the external slabs completed our works on this 1st fix extension. But it was great to visit the property a few months later once fully finished and furnished to see the full effect of our works.
A small extension in scale but huge in achieving the properties full potential. ✅

This first home in Folkestone was far from ready when this customer bought it. Wanting to tackle it mostly himself as a bit of a project, Fudstone were originally called to complete a kitchen and bathroom replacement.

Through good communication and liaising with the client the job went smoothly and we were able to create the desired kitchen and bathroom. Not only that, as well as the agreed works we also managed to complete a few extras such as having the majority of the house replastered, and skirting ran throughout the newly plastered rooms ready for the house to take carpet.

Some more good work in helping this first time buyer turn a house into his home ✅
