Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician
Location: Cumnock, Ayrshire.
Type: Full-Time
Gibsons Auto Services is seeking an experienced vehicle technician to join our team.

Job Description:
As a technician on our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the vehicles that come through our workshop. You will use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, perform scheduled maintenance services, and ensure that all work meets our high standards, this role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and a customer-first, fix right fist time attitude.
Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on a wide range of JLR vehicles.
• Perform thorough inspections to help our service advisor team explain the work required on the car to help maximize the customer experience and profits.
• Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tyres, wheel alignment, brake inspection and general servicing etc.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle conditions
• Communicate effectively with service advisors to provide accurate estimates and timelines
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety standards
• Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standard and on schedule
• Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques
• Contribute to a positive team environment and workshop culture by collaborating with colleagues
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a time served vehicle technician
• Proficiency with digital tools, diagnostic software, and general computer skills
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with service advisors
Salary Range:
We offer a very competitive rate of pay, this will be discussed at time of interview, and will vary depending on skill level and experience of the individual
Working hours:
Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
Every second Saturday – 9:00am to 1:00pm (paid at overtime rates)
