The past week has been a tough and emotional one for all at Daly Construction Ltd following the death of a true friend, a work colleague, and someone who has been loyal to DCL for a lifetime - Frankie Rafferty

Frankie started working with Daly Construction alongside Mick in 1988 in London and worked right until Decmeber 2024. He worked on projects in Dublin, Belfast, London, and all over the UK - you could be sure Frankie had a part to play in each and every job.

His expertise, determination, and leadership shone through on every job, and no job was ever too big or small. Nothing of any size or location ever phased Frankie.

Throughout the past 37 years, Frankie crossed paths with many people who worked directly for DCL and with clients on various projects. Every person who ever connected with Frankie always had a positive interaction and great things to say about him.

Frankie, you have left a huge mark on all of our lives, both through your valued friendship and through your work. We will always remember you on each and every project and will no doubt still ask, "How would frankie do this one?"

We will miss the general chats with a cup of tea and a bun and your expertise and experienced leadership in everything you done. Forever in our thoughts and hearts.

Rest in peace, Frankie.

Works were fully completed last week at Hilti Headquarters, Finglas. This project consisted of a Strip - Out of all 3 floors in the building with drainage & concrete works also completed.

DCL began work this week at IQ Shoreditch, London. This project includes a soft strip - out of a 16 storey student accommodation building.

Works finished up last week at Colette Court, Sloane Street London. This project included internal demolition of roof and walls and all temporary support works. This was a very challenging project in a very busy area of London, but completed in time & to client satisfaction.

Works are progressing well at Belfield Blocks, Dublin. Block 7 Strip-Out / Alterations fully completed with Block 8 well underway.

DCL, in the last two weeks have completed and handed over three projects in the Dublin area.

1. Irish Life - Abbey Street, Dublin: strip-out, demolition & alterations, paving and brick work. A complex project, with various constraints and a tight time schedule.

2. Dunnes Stores - Donaghmeade, Dublin: strip-out, demolition & alterations, concrete infills, block work, drainage and remedial works to external of building. A very enjoyable project over 6 months with 90% of our works in a live shopping centre.

3. Beacon - Sandyford, Dublin: enabling works package which consisted of strip out of a 4 storey office block. DCL were main contractor on this project which involved full site set up, and PSCS. A great project to have completed, which was finished on time and to client satisfaction.

Daly Construction are due to commence the strip-out and alterations of a 5 storey office block in Clonskeagh, Dublin. More info and photos to follow.
