We're on stage twice at Futurebuild this year, both sessions are worth putting in your diary.

Our CEO/CTO Pete Armstrong will be unpacking what smart energy policy really means for the built environment in practice. He'll be covering Smart Secondary Storage Equipment, the Smart Readiness Metric, and how thermal storage connects policy ambition to real-world performance.

And our Sales Director Peter McBride will be looking at heat pump performance from the ground up: sizing, controls, cylinder pairing and system design, and why getting hot water right is so often the difference between a system that works and one that doesn't.

Two different angles, one shared theme: hot water is no longer a passive part of the system. It's one of the most useful tools we have for decarbonising homes and helping balance the grid.

Heading to Futurebuild? We'd love to see you there.

EPC reform arrives in 2027, and smart readiness is one of the metrics homes will be assessed against.

For social housing providers, that has real implications for retrofit programmes running now. The cylinder specifications agreed this year, the system choices made in current planned works cycles, these will all be in place when the new assessments begin.

The good news is that smart hot water is one of the most straightforward places to start. A Mixergy cylinder replaces an existing unit without major disruption, responds to time-of-use tariffs, integrates with solar PV, and feeds real-time data back to your asset team.

EPC reform is expected to introduce Smart Readiness as a new performance metric from 2027.

For social housing providers, that matters now. Retrofit decisions being made today on smart systems could still be in place when the EPC new assessments begin.

Our free 1-hour CPD gives asset managers and sustainability leads a clear picture of what is changing, how smart hot water is already reducing tenant bills across UK social housing programmes, and how to get ahead of the compliance changes before 2027.

If you work in social housing asset management, retrofit delivery, or housing operations, it is worth an hour of your time.

Big signal from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (ESNZ) to decarbonise our homes with the release of Warms Home Plan today.

The Warm Homes Plan references Mixergy as a case study, profiling our MESH project (Making Efficient Systems around Heat Pumps) as Heat Pump Ready innovation.

Why that matters:

Smart hot water is controllable thermal storage. It helps heat pumps run more efficiently, reduces system complexity, and shifts demand to cheaper, cleaner periods automatically. That is exactly the kind of system-level thinking we need if we want electrified heat to scale without putting even more strain on the grid.

It is encouraging to see real-world deployment and practical innovation reflected so clearly in national policy.

Happy New Year from the Mixergy team.

Our resolution for 2026 is the same one that drives us every day: helping homes and buildings electrify with confidence while giving homeowners and residents real, measurable savings. Smart hot water plays a key role in cutting bills, boosting energy resilience, and supporting the wider shift to cleaner energy.

Thank you for being part of our journey in 2025. Here’s to a energised 2026.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Mixergy.

As we wrap up 2025, we want to thank everyone who has worked with us this year, developers, housing providers, installers, partners, and the many households now using Mixergy every day.

Strong compliance is vital, and our systems are built to support it. But this year has also reinforced how important the resident experience is. When technology is easy to use and delivers real savings — often up to 40% on hot water bills — it builds trust and adoption across entire housing portfolios.

We’ve included a few of our favourite Trustpilot comments from 2025. They highlight the impact good design can have for residents and landlords alike.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a bright start to 2026.

In Exchange Square, London, we worked with Twenty One Engineering to electrify commercial hot water without adding load to the building. By using real operational data and a heat-recovery strategy, the system was right-sized from the outset and paired with our intelligent hot water storage.

The result is a high-efficiency, fully electric hot water solution that delivers measurable savings:

✔️Energy use cut by around 600 kWh each week.
✔️COP above 5.0.
✔️Payback in under a year.

Great to see Mixergy featured in Ultrapanel’s Ultra Home. It’s a strong example of how fabric-first design paired with intelligent systems can help developers meet higher energy standards without adding complexity.

The Ultra Home uses a Mixergy smart hot water cylinder to deliver faster recovery, lower hot water energy use and better utilisation of onsite renewables. It shows how smart hot water can support EPC uplift, simplify compliance and create future-ready homes built for the next generation of regulations.

For developers aiming to deliver efficient, resilient and low-carbon housing at scale, this is a blueprint worth watching.
