The Whitby Lobster Hatchery hens are looking very happy in their broodstock room this morning.

Our Broodstock System is suitable for both European and American clawed lobsters; and use enables hatchery professionals to extend the larval season by increasing or decreasing egg incubation time.

Take a video tour of our Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) system at Whitby Lobster Hatchery.

Our RAS system is highly energy efficient, utilising one pump that circulates water around the filtration and heating/cooling system. As part of our bespoke service, this system was designed in close cooperation with client requirements, and it is great to see it up and running.

Suitable for European and American clawed lobster, each unit is coupled with its own Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) and water heater/chiller, enabling users to extend the larval season by increasing or decreasing egg incubation time.

We believe that a good system makes for happy, healthy lobsters – with one of these hens even giving you a cheery wave!
