HIGHLY COMMENDED AT THE SHOWMAN’S SHOW AWARDS!

We’re delighted to share that Roder UK has been Highly Commended in the Green Supplier & Innovation Award at this year’s Showman’s Show Awards.

The judges recognised our work to make sustainability part of everyday business, highlighting how we’ve:

⚡ Pioneered the use of electric vehicles for haulage
🌱 Embedded sustainability into every aspect of our business

From transitioning our own fleet to electric vehicles to working with partners like Voltloader to make electric haulage a reality for event structures, we’re committed to finding practical ways to reduce our environmental impact.

There’s always more to do, but it’s great to see these efforts recognised by the events industry.

A big thank you to the judges and everyone who continues to support us on this journey!

We’ve been on site at the The Showman's Show - The Outdoor Events Services Exhibition since Monday, getting everything ready for the Suppliers Pavilion.

While the build is almost complete, we are also taking the opportunity to talk about sustainability and what we’re doing to help reduce the environmental impact of events.

It was great to catch up with show organiser Jeremy Lance, who was impressed by the steps we’re taking - including our work with Voltloader to bring electric haulage into the mix.

From the vehicles we drive to the way we transport our structures, we’re always looking for ways to do things better. ⚡

Make sure to come and say hi to us if you're visiting the Showman's Show next week! Suppliers Pavilion stand 162 Ave G.

At Roder UK, we’re fortunate to be a small, friendly team. We work hard, look out for each other and, whenever we can, have a good laugh along the way.

We’ve had an Employee Assistance Programme in place for the past three years, but we’ve recently upgraded it to give our team access to even more support.

Alongside our 24/7 confidential helpline, our team can now access:

• Online and in-person counselling
• Life and leadership coaching
• Financial wellbeing coaching
• A virtual GP service

We’re also committing to sending two team members on Mental Health First Aid courses each year, helping us become better equipped to recognise when a friend, colleague or family member might need a little extra support.

We know that looking after people isn’t about one big gesture. It’s about making small, meaningful improvements over time.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a supportive workplace.

We’ll keep working to make sure our team, suppliers and customers can experience the best possible outcomes every day.

How do we keep our large and semi-permanent structures secure for long periods, during all weathers and changing temperatures?

Our ratchet tension system is an important part of keeping structures safe and secure. These systems are tensioned to hold structures firmly in place, while the coil spring allows for the natural contraction and expansion caused by changes in temperature, and flex to avoid damage in high winds.

Lee Dalton, our Sales Director, walks you through a ratchet system installed on a leg of one of our large structures at Sandringham Flower Show.

More questions about the practicalities of structures, or want to know how Roder can support your event or venue? Get in touch with the team today, we're always happy to chat!

We just completed the longest EV haulage trip we've ever attempted!🔋

We have collaborated with electric haulage company Voltloader once again to deliver an upcoming project at Three Counties Showground. The delivery arrived on site last week, having travelled 132 miles from our warehouse in Cambridgeshire all the way to Malvern in Worcestershire.

We're really excited about this step in our use of EV haulage. Just a few months ago, the charging infrastructure was too limited along this route for EV haulage to be viable. Now, we're delivering yet another project with EV haulage, just months later.

The landscape of EV haulage is rapidly evolving and we can't wait to see how it will develop over the next year. More on this project coming soon... 👀

It's World Car Free Day! 🚗

If you noticed quieter streets or even street parties over the weekend, you may have been seeing the effects of World Car Free Day! An annual international event where motorists are encouraged to leave their cars at home and use alternative eco-friendly transport.

There are lots of benefits to reducing traffic in cities, and even one day raises awareness of the health benefits of walking, the potential for decongested streets, and helps lower emissions and reduce smog build up, leaving cities with cleaner air.

While we're always trying to keep our transport as sustainable as possible at Roder UK through the use of EVs, local crew and strategic haulage partnerships, there's no question that the best thing everyone can do to minimise travel emissions is to cut down on their car usage. What better day to give it a go than today!

Let us know - will you be ditching your car today?

After a very busy summer we need to give a shoutout to our fantastic Yard Team! 👏

The Yard Team keep everything running day to day at Roder UK, making sure all our product is stocked, stored correctly, packaged and sent off to the next project.

➡️ Tommy oversees all things frame, floor and glazing
➡️ Mike & Terry take charge of all PVC operations

They are usually tucked away behind the scenes, but we simply couldn't manage without them. The summer has kept them extremely busy and we're grateful for all their hard work in making every project a success!

Now it's time to roll up our sleeves and prepare for the winter dry hires. If you're in need of additional products or parts over the coming months, Roder UK offers dry hire services to keep you fully stocked throughout the busy periods. Get in touch to discuss how we can help - [email protected]

September's here, and so is this month's tree count 🌲

Since January, we've been planting trees across Cambridgeshire and Scotland for every new follower, newsletter subscriber and order that comes our way, and our 6-month totals are in:

We have now planted 193 trees since the scheme began back in January, well past our original goal of 52.

None of this happens without you, so thank you for following, subscribing and ordering with us this year.

We're also putting our money where our mouth is elsewhere in the business: our recent build for the RHS Sandringham Flower Show ran entirely on electric haulage, with all of the deliveries to site courtesy of our partners at Voltloader ⚡

Fancy helping us keep the total climbing? Following our page or subscribing to our newsletter is one of the easiest ways, link's in the comments 👇

Product of the Month: Warehouse Systems

As temperatures (finally!) start to drop, now's the perfect time to talk about a feature that sets our warehouse systems apart: they're built to handle whatever winter throws at them ❄️

Our industrial and storage marquees are constructed from anodised aluminium profiles with a modular design and engineered to stand strong under snow and wind. That means your space stays operational through winter, no matter what the weather throws at it.

And with no need for a solid foundation, our warehouse systems combine mobility with genuine stability, plus the modular design means you can extend or scale up even after your marquee has already been set up.

We offer a range of systems to suit different needs:
→ S-LINE: our cost-effective range, ideal for temporary storage solutions
→ M-LINE: our multi-purpose range, ideal for temporary storage solutions that require lower internal heights, or smaller spans.
→ H-LINE: quick and simple to install, and especially suited to year-round, permanent use, whether you need a simple covered loading area, or an insulated production line.
→ T-LINE: the best of both worlds, combining the flexibility of a temporary structure with the stability of a permanent one, scalable as your business grows

Whatever the season, we'll help you find the right warehouse system for your project. Get in touch with our expert team today: [email protected] 📩
