Does your business need fast-deploying, cost-effective extra space?

We were recently approached by a fast-growing Cambridgeshire business who had found themselves in need of extra industrial space, and fast.

Luckily, Roder was able to support. We quickly installed over 2,000sqm of fully-insulated temporary structure to provide this much-needed additional space.

We installed:
→ A 25m x 50m from our M-Line range. This was fully insulated with thermal inflated roofs, 40mm ISO walls and insulated roller shutter doors
→ A 25m x 30m M-Line with single skin PVC roof covers and steel clad walling

Both structures have an eave height of 5.2m, and are now operating as fully-functioning industrial buildings which can be scaled up and down in accordance with their needs.

Earlier this month, we deployed over 550 linear metres of structures to Malvern Spring Festival 🌺

Every year, this event draws families and horticulturalists from across the country to Three Counties Showground for the iconic RHS show. We installed:
→ 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m highlight pagodas
→ 3m and 6m covered rows
→ 6m 12m and 15m wide Roder A Frames

Malvern is one of three events we work on at Three Counties Showground and we're already looking forward to returning later in the season!

Let's demystify pull tests...

Pull tests are an essential safety protocol before we install a marquee, which involves testing how much force the ground stakes for the marquee can withstand. We have to verify that the stakes won't move significantly in the wind or harsh weather before installing the structure.

There are some new faces on here, so let's reintroduce our team!

Next up is Nic Hardy: Nic is our Senior Account Manager, a key member of the team and the main point of contact for our rental clients. Nic has over 18 years of experience in the global events sector, and brought essential expertise to Roder UK when she joined us back in 2023.

Nic works closely with Roder's clients, overseeing all dry hire and rental contracts from initial conversations, to the build, through to completion. When she's not working, you can find Nic paddleboarding, running or on long walks, all with her mini Dachshund Sonny in tow!

Can you truly be sustainable if you're not considering human sustainability? 🤔

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and with the busy events season looming, it's a great reminder of the importance of looking after your team's wellbeing. We talk a lot about environmental sustainability at Roder UK, but we strongly believe that ethos has to translate to your people, too.

While we have a few systems in place that work well for us, we recognise the additional challenges that face larger teams, those who often work unsociable hours, or lone workers. We would love to hear from other organisations that have found effective systems - please tell us more in the comments!

If you're a supplier of temporary structures, MUTA's online resources need to be on your radar.

MUTA's online library offers short courses and training opportunities for anyone looking to enhance their skills. There are a whole variety of training courses to choose from, ranging from Manual Handling and Working at Height, to Cyber Security and Lone Working, plus the core training courses dedicated to temporary structures and working on sites with them.

At Roder, we have particularly found the 'MUTA Instruct - Frame Marquees' course useful. This course provides a great foundation and overall explanation, which is especially useful for any new starters in our warehouse or crews to get up to speed on different parts and products.

(If you decide to take the MUTA Instruct course, you may spot our very own Lee Dalton along the way! He was involved in constructing the course content and makes a few appearances throughout...)

We would highly recommend taking a look through the courses in the lead up to the busy season - a perfect opportunity to brush up on essential skills!

📣 Monthly tree planting update! And it's a big one...

It's been two months since we embarked on our tree planting mission, committing to planting trees across the UK as we gain email subscribers, social followers and new orders.

The results are in, and at the end of April we planted...

→ 33 trees!

When we started this initiative, our aim was to plant a total of 52 trees in 2026 - one for every week of the year. In the first two months, we have already planted 56!

This month, as we are based in a wetland area, we decided to mix it up a bit. We planted 23 trees and 10m² of wetland restoration, as that feels more in keeping with the makeup of our local Fenland area.

Thanks to all your support, we've already smashed our overall goal 💪 Please keep sharing this scheme around. Every follow on social media, subscription to our email newsletter and new order contributes to our mission to plant trees throughout 2026!

RHS Malvern Spring Festival is almost built and ready to go! 🌺

We've spent this week on site with our clients, Three Counties Showground, finalising the build for the Spring Festival ahead of the show next weekend. The 2026 edition is set to be another fantastic event and we are thrilled to be a part of it!

Nic, our Senior Account Manager, has been there all week, ensuring the build remains on track and any client needs are met, ticking off lists and helping the build crew locate the many structures across site. Thankfully, the weather has been fantastic.

This time next week we'll be back on site at Malvern Spring Festival! 🌺

The season has come around again and we're excited to start seeing our clients' incredible events coming to life for another year.

We're kicking off at RHS Malvern Spring Festival next week, where we provide a range of temporary structures to house floral displays, stalls and dining spaces.
