🚧 WEEK 11 SITE UPDATE… and we’ve uncovered a few surprises! 👀

This week has been a BIG one on site… and swipe to see what we’ve been getting up to! 👉

🏡 First up… WHAT did we find?!
When we started lifting the flooring in the main house, we uncovered an old tarmac driveway hiding underneath! 😱 You really never know what you’re going to find on a renovation!

🏗️ The roof is really starting to take shape now, with all the steels in!

🌳 And then there’s THAT hole in the garden… 😳
We’ve uncovered the old cesspit, which is being cleared out ready for a brand-new soakaway.

It’s busy, it’s exciting and every week the house is looking more and more like the finished vision! 🔨✨

We caught up with Vicky, our client, alongside Leon, Director of Grant Builders, for a chat outside the property as we reach the halfway point of this 6-month build.

Living in the house throughout the build has definitely presented its challenges, but as Vicky explains, good communication has made all the difference.

From regular updates to checking in at the start and end of every day, keeping our clients informed and involved throughout the process is something we take seriously.

🏡 Week 10 at Grant Builders

Another week, another big step forward! 👏🏽

In this week’s site update, Leon takes us on a walk around the project and gives us the latest on what’s happening behind the scenes.

🏠 The new roof is now well under-way on the main house
✨ The annex has had its silicone render — and it’s looking gorgeous!
🛋️ Chris has officially moved into the annex, complete with her brand-new recliner sofas (which Leon had to try out, of course! 😂)
🔥 And the new boiler is now in!

It’s brilliant seeing the project really starting to come together. We’ll keep bringing you along for the journey as things progress!

5 Things to Know Before You Hire a Builder! 🙌🏽

1. The cheapest quote isn’t always the cheapest option.

A low quote can sometimes mean things have been left out. Make sure you’re comparing like-for-like quotes and understand exactly what is included.

2. Always look at their previous work.

Don’t just rely on photos. If possible, visit a completed project or ask for examples similar to the work you’re planning.

3. Check reviews and look for consistency.

One or two good reviews don’t tell the whole story. Look at what previous customers say about communication, reliability, quality and how the builder handled problems.

4. Get everything agreed in writing.

The scope of work, materials, payment schedule, timescales and what happens if additional work is needed should all be clear before work begins.

5. Communication matters as much as workmanship.

You want a builder who answers questions, keeps you updated and tells you when something changes. Good communication can make the whole project significantly less stressful.

Week 10 at Grant Builders 🏡🔨

Another busy week on site! Come and see what we’ve been getting up to this week 👀

The silicone rendering on the annex is now complete and work has officially started on the main house. The steels are now in place ready for the new roof and the new boiler has also been fitted.

Plenty of progress happening across the site, so take a look through the slideshow to see how the project is coming together!
