Cylinder Lifter

Cylinder Lifter Cylinder Lifter has been specifically designed to enable the safe loading of gas cylinders on and of mounting platforms

Specifically designed to enable the safe loading of gas cylinders on and off mobile welding sets. With over 30 years experience in the industry, we are more than aware that many have suffered back pain associated with the continual churning (rolling) and bear hugging (lifting) of 80 plus kg cylinders on and off weld sets, and with no market specific lifting apparatus to combat these issues. Cylind

er Lifter have designed, developed and manufactured a suitable device to answer this long overdue problem. The Cylinder Lifter is a unique, innovative device, designed, manufactured and tested in the UK. Its purpose is not only to minimise the risk of injury to employees, but also to answer the questions set out for employers in the legal obligations under HSE manual handling operations regulations for risk assessment of employees. "Avoid manual handling operations so far as is reasonably practicable"

"Assess the risk in any manual handling operations that cannot be avoided and reduce the risk of injury so far as reasonably practicable"

Day 4 of the Cylinder Lifter USA Demo Tour.

The day started in Denver with a long-distance view of the Rockies, but the real purpose was to meet our rep, Kevin Van Coevern, and conduct a demo with Warren Coble at ANSOS.

Once again, Cylinder Lifter impressed.

Warren immediately saw the value for major industrial end users who place a premium on safety and health in the workplace. He was heavily involved in the demo, which showed the difference between a manual hug lift and the mechanical pivot used by Lifter.

If you are repeatedly lifting heavy gas bottles, you know the strain you are putting yourself through.

If you’re going to lift — Use Lifter.

Pat is back on the road, stopping in at Heart Supply and keeping the conversations moving with customers who handle high-pressure cylinders every day.

This stop included a practical loading dock demo, showing how the Cylinder Lifter helps reduce the strain and risk of moving heavy cylinders at working height.

The message stays simple:

If you’re moving cylinders frequently — Use Lifter.

End of Day 2 Update – Grand Island, Nebraska
After around 850 miles of prairie roads so straight you could spot tyre debris 40 miles ahead, Lifter rolled into Grand Island, Nebraska late in the evening.

There we stumbled across this fascinating piece of local history. Back in 1887, a botched robbery attempt led to the destruction of much of Doniphan's business district when thieves used explosives to try and open a safe.

Lifter wasn't around back then to suggest, "Just blow the bloody doors off," but it did get us thinking about heavy lifting and safer ways of doing difficult jobs.

We're pleased to announce that Cylinder Lifter has now been independently re-evaluated to handle cylinders up to 310 lbs (140 kg).

That makes it the only purely mechanical lifting device capable of safely lifting and transporting 140 kg Inergen fire suppression cylinders while keeping operator lifting forces below 45 lbs.

If you thought handling a 220 lb cylinder was tough, you're absolutely right.
But when the job calls for 310 lbs, Lifter is ready.

Use Lifter.

It’s easy to assume injuries come from obvious mistakes. A slip, a drop, or something going visibly wrong.

In reality, most injuries build over time.

Repeated strain, small adjustments, and constant physical demand create pressure on the body that isn’t always noticed straight away.

By the time something does go wrong, it’s often been developing for a while.

Let's change that by getting you a lifter that helps eliminate injuries.

Day 2 of the Cylinder Lifter June USA Demo Tour.

Today started with a quick stop at Fort Armstrong in Davenport, Iowa.

Standing beside the monument is a stack of cannonballs known as a "Brass Monkey", associated with the old Royal Navy saying, "It's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

From there, the tour continued to the Mississippi waterfront overlooking the City of Davenport and the mighty Mississippi River. An impressive sight and a reminder of the industrial heritage that helped build America.

While in Davenport, Pat also dropped in on SJ Smith. We hope to arrange Cylinder Lifter demonstrations with their Outside Sales teams in the near future and appreciate the warm welcome.

Every stop on this tour is about meeting the people who move cylinders every day and demonstrating a safer way to handle them.

If your team is moving cylinders frequently, there is risk involved.

Cylinder Lifter is designed to reduce strain, improve control and make cylinder handling safer.

Day 1 of the Cylinder Lifter June USA Demo Tour.

We’re on the road from Dayton, Ohio to Denver, Colorado — roughly 1,300 miles.

First stop: Indianapolis, meeting with two independent distributors and getting the Lifter in front of people who understand the daily risks of moving heavy high-pressure cylinders.

If your team is moving cylinders frequently, even over small height changes, there is risk involved.

Cylinder Lifter is designed to reduce that strain and make cylinder handling safer.

Manual handling often feels quicker in the moment. No setup, no equipment, just get it done and move on.

But over time, that approach slows things down in less obvious ways. Adjustments, repositioning, fatigue, and the need to be cautious all add up.

What feels faster isn’t always more efficient. It just feels familiar.

When the process becomes more controlled, the time becomes more consistent, and the effort required drops significantly.

Last week it was Welding College day at AWISCO today with 5 schools attending.

A great opportunity for us to show case Cylinder Lifter because they are commonly required to pick up and change the depleted bottles.

Thanks for the invite, it was fantastic to see so many young people wanting to understand more about welding and the pitfalls of lifting manually.

At the start of the day, everything feels controlled. Movements are sharper, posture is better, and there’s more awareness in how tasks are carried out.

As fatigue sets in, that changes.

Small adjustments become less precise, posture starts to shift, and the same task requires more effort to complete safely.

That’s when risk increases, even if nothing about the task itself has changed.

It’s not just about how something is lifted. It’s about when it’s lifted and in what condition.
