Don’t mind us, just watching the DNM 4500 do its thing. 😉

Seeing a machine run through a batch and knowing each part is coming off exactly as it should never gets old.

With its rigid construction and roller guideway systems, the DNM 4500 gives us the consistency needed for repeat production, keeping each component within spec from the first part through to the last!

It’s certainly been a month for large parts leaving the workshop, but large parts are what we do best.

Our Mazak and Dahlih CNC machining centres can handle components up to 3 metres in length and 5 tonnes in weight, giving us the capacity to produce complex parts for customers across aerospace, defence, oil & gas and general industrial sectors.

This morning we're carrying out inspection checks to verify components meet customer specifications, all part of our ISO 9001 quality management system.

Every measurement helps confirm the parts are within tolerance before they move on. Case closed. 👌

What an exciting couple of weeks here at Ferrositi!

We're thrilled to reveal our two latest arrivals to the workshop, a 𝗗𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗩𝗖𝗙𝟴𝟱𝟬𝗟𝗦𝗥𝗜𝗜 5 Axis Mill and the 𝗦𝗠𝗫 𝟮𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗦𝗕 Mill-Turn Centre. 🙌

These new machines give us a real boost in capacity, with the VCF850LSRII giving us more flexibility for large 5 axis components, while the SMX 2100SB allows us to take on complex parts requiring both milling and turning.

We’ve already got jobs underway on both machines and they’re running like a dream.

Waiting patiently for the second batch of large stainless steel manifold blocks to come off the Dahlih MCV 1450. 💪

These larger components are well suited to the machine, with multiple machining operations completed in a single programme before the part comes off. That means less handling between operations, fewer setups and more time spent cutting, while the component remains in the same datum throughout the cycle.

Now it's just a case of letting the machine do what it does best. 🤩

Another good run on the Mazak VTC 530C for these heavy industrial shafts.

When you're machining larger components, keeping the workpiece stable is key. That's where the travelling column design comes into its own, with the spindle moving across the X and Y axes while the table remains fixed, rather than shifting the weight of the component during machining.

The result is consistent accuracy across longer parts and a process that's well suited to the kind of large, heavy components we manufacture every day.

First job of the day is getting ticked off! ✔️

The quality team are carrying out checks this morning, making sure everything is exactly where it should be before the job moves onto the next stage.

Quality runs through 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 stage of manufacturing, with processes that conform to ISO 9001:2015 and support the standards our customers expect, so the same level of attention is applied throughout production.

Our procedures are also regularly audited by customers across demanding industries, where attention to detail is a requirement rather than an option. 👏

The XYZ Proturn SLX 425 has made our engineers happy with how this batch of large fasteners came out.

Although they’re substantial components, the rigid gap-bed design of the SLX 425 provides the stability needed for heavier cutting, keeping the setup smooth and controlled without putting up any fight.
