This week we were doing some heavy lifting.

A 90 tonne crane was on hand to drop in a new heat exchanger for this 500kW boiler. Weighing in at 1,760kg we were very grateful to have some help positioning this equipment.

The power and precision of this crane was impressive to watch.

Twin buffer tank installation for a customer in the South East.

2 off 2,000L buffer tanks with 54mm pipework.

Removal of existing corroded 3,000L tank and installation of the new equipment completed with minimal disruption and only two days of downtime.

Today we have been preparing and firing these boilers for their first run of the season after a break over summer.

At 1,400kW each they are certainly at the larger end of the scale.

Each boiler heats 2 x 20,000 litre buffer vessels. With a total of 80,000 litres of storage between the pair.

The chip is fed via a monstrous walking floor & bespoke auger system and at full power they can consume up to 1 artic lorry load of wood chip per day.

Heat Meters!

Did you know that to remain compliant with RHI guidelines you must have your heat meters recalibrated or replaced every 10 years.

This one is a big one at DN100 and a change of dimensions required some pipework modifications. By producing a spool piece off site we were able to speed up the process and avoid hot works on site.
