Project Update: Ductwork Relocation Complete in London.

We’ve recently completed the successful relocation of secondary ductwork within a floor void, as part of an ongoing mechanical upgrade.

🔧 The scope involved:
✅ Careful repositioning of duct runs to accommodate revised layout
✅ Installation of new supply and return plenums
✅ Integration of high-efficiency grilles to ensure optimal airflow and comfort
✅ Coordination with structural and architectural teams to maintain ceiling and void integrity

This work not only improves airflow distribution but also provides flexibility for future spatial reconfigurations.

🌬️ Underfloor Ductwork Integration – Smart, Efficient, and Seamless

These floor-mounted grilles are part of a carefully engineered system fed via Fan Coil Units (FCUs) through a primary and secondary ductwork network located beneath a raised access floor.

🔹 Primary ductwork delivers conditioned air from the AHU or central plant to each FCU.
🔹 The FCU then distributes air via secondary underfloor ducts, supplying it directly to occupied zones.
🔹 The plenum created within the raised floor acts as a flexible distribution space—boosting accessibility and future adaptability.

To maintain both airflow efficiency and acoustic privacy in open-plan and cellular spaces, cross talk attenuators have also been integrated into the return air path.
These attenuators allow air to pass freely between rooms while significantly reducing sound transmission—an essential component for maintaining acoustic performance in shared environments.

This approach supports optimal comfort, energy efficiency, sound control, and clean ceiling lines—ideal for agile workspaces and modern commercial fit-outs.
