We’ve been gradually bringing this church back to life after it was converted into a nursery, and most recently we’ve been working on one of the gable ends.

The existing mortar had completely failed, causing water ingress and damp — obviously not ideal for a nursery environment.

We carefully raked out the old mortar using dust control before repointing with lime mortar, giving the building a traditional, breathable and solid finish while helping protect it for years to come.

Another section brought back to life, one step at a time. 🧱

Here’s an 1800s property we recently transformed in Dalton. Due to the age of the building, we used traditional lime mortar to carefully repoint the stonework.

📍 Ashton in Makerfield

Recently completed this property in Ashton which was suffering from damp issues and blocked air vents caused by cement pointing trapping moisture within the walls.

We carefully removed the defective cement joints and repointed the property using a traditional lime-based mortar, allowing the building to breathe properly once again. We also reinstated the original air vents and carried out full chimney repointing works.

The property is now breathable, water-tight, and protected for many years to come.
