Reverse engineering in action 🔧

We took a 3D printed bracket and transformed it into a fully welded aluminium prototype.

Starting with the printed part, we captured the geometry, rebuilt the model in CAD, and optimized it for fabrication in aluminium. The final result: a robust, production-ready prototype featuring precision machining, threaded inserts, and TIG-welded reinforcement ribs for added strength.

This project highlights the journey from concept validation (3D print) to functional metal prototype — improving durability, load capacity, and real-world performance while maintaining the original design intent.

Great example of how additive manufacturing and traditional fabrication can work hand in hand to accelerate development.

Proud of this recent project of bespoke aluminium turnover fixtures designed and manufactured for controlled rotation of large panel assemblies.
